ChatGPT is a tool with unprecedented impact. The chatbot is amazingly good at generating texts on just about any subject. Due to the attractiveness, the risks sometimes remain underexposed.
Text generation works fine most of the time, but watch out if it uses you for other purposes. Programmers are increasingly using ChatGPT for debugging or optimization purposes, for example. Programming language is also language, right?
ChatGPT and your cyber security
As it turns out, ChatGPT also understands that very well. But we add a warning and a remark. Programmers recently uploaded code in ChatGPT for debugging. We don't know if the search was successful. But we do know that from then on the code was public and others discovered it. The result: the release of the software had to be postponed and that cost quite a lot of money.

We just do that 'old skool' without ChatGPT.

And our comment? It has everything to do with Cyber Security. ChatGPT can also generate great code if you clearly indicate what you are looking for. But programmers also had to determine after checking that that code was in many cases unsafe. Publishing the code would make users targeted by hackers.
